The Way, the Truth, and the Life
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The Father Revealed
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me,
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on

[20] At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
[23] Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Not by Chance but by choice
It was not by happen chance that the first thing that God said to believers, after four hundred years of silence after the Book of Malachi was, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." (James 1:2-4) We can be sure that in the years that followed the disciples often remembered the Lord's consoling words and they were a source of strength to them.
Very anointed chapter ,power packed with selfless love and strong emotion, describing the connection, Father , son, Holy Spirit written by John ,the one who always stay closer to the Lord always leaning on Him.
The sure hope of heaven is the source of great strength and comfort to the child of God. It was clear that Jesus was explaining that He would soon return to heaven which is the house or abode of God the Father.
He was assuring them that in returning to heaven He would be preparing a place for them there where they could be with Him again. He explained several things to them. One, their belief in Him assured them of a place in heaven. He was the means whereby they would enter heaven.
He had explained in John 11:25-26 that He was the resurrection and the life and those that believed in him would live. As He continued this discourse He stated in John 14:6 ". . . I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) Second, Jesus told them there were ample dwelling places (mansions) in heaven for them all.
Third, He told them His leaving was to go ahead and prepare a place in heaven for them. He promised that their separation would not be permanent and that He would return for them.

Angels spoke unto them
What can we learn about John the beloved disciple of Our Lord Jesus:
John was passionately devoted to the proclamation of truth. No one in Scripture, except the Lord Jesus, had more to say about the concept of truth.
His joy was proclaiming the truth to others and then watching them walk in it (3 John 4). His strongest condemnation was for those who perverted the truth and led others astray, especially if they claimed to be believers (1 John 2:4). His passion for truth fueled his concern for the sheep who might be deceived by false teachers, and his warnings about them take up much of 1 John. He had no qualms about identifying as “false prophets” and “antichrists” those who tried to pervert the truth, even proclaiming them to be demonic in nature (1 John 2:18, 26, 3:7, 4:1-7).
At the same time, John is also called the “apostle of love.” In his own gospel, he refers to himself as “the one whom Jesus loved” (John 13:23, 20:2, 21:7, 21:20). He is depicted as the one leaning against Jesus’ breast at the last supper. His brief second epistle is filled with expressions of his deep love for those in his care. He addresses his first epistle to a group of believers “whom I love in the truth” and exhorts them to “love one another” by walking in obedience to Jesus’ commands (1 John 1:1, 5-6).
